The Directa Dental Luxator Periotome L3C is a periodontal ligament knife with a fine, tapered 3mm curved blade designed for atraumatic tooth extraction. Rather than leveraging like a traditional elevator, the L3C is inserted into the periodontal ligament space and used with a cutting and rocking motion to sever the ligament fibers, gently freeing the tooth from its socket with minimal tissue damage, less postoperative bleeding, and preserved alveolar bone integrity. The black-coded L3C is the general-use/starter instrument in the Directa Luxator range, made of autoclavable Swedish stainless steel and sold individually.
