LOOK™ PolySyn™ Sutures are synthetic absorbable braided sutures made of polyglycolic acid (PGA) with a proprietary low-friction coating that reduces tissue drag. They retain approximately 50% of their initial strength at two weeks and 20% at three weeks, with mass absorption essentially complete between 50 and 90 days. Each suture is 18 inches (45 cm) long, size 5-0, violet dyed, and swaged to a 19 mm 3/8 circle reverse cutting needle (PS-2/DSM19).
