HyFlex CM NiTi rotary files feature controlled-memory (CM) technology that allows the file to follow the natural anatomy of the canal closely, reducing the risk of ledging, transportation, and perforation. The extremely flexible design lacks the shape memory of conventional NiTi files and responds to excessive resistance by straightening its spirals, which helps avoid wall binding and increases fracture resistance. The form adaptation can be quickly reversed by heat treatment such as autoclaving or a glass bead sterilizer, returning the instrument to its original shape.
