SURGIFOAM® is a sterile, water-insoluble, malleable porcine gelatin absorbable sponge designed for hemostasis in surgical procedures (except ophthalmic) when conventional methods are ineffective. It can be used dry or saturated with sterile saline or thrombin, conforms to irregular bleeding sites, and absorbs fully in 4-6 weeks. Each sponge absorbs up to 40 times its weight, is 100% bioresorbable, and is individually packaged for convenience.
