SURGIFOAM® Absorbable Gelatin Sponge is a sterile, water-insoluble, malleable porcine gelatin sponge designed for hemostasis in surgical procedures (except ophthalmic) when conventional methods are ineffective. It provides a matrix for platelet adhesion and aggregation, absorbs fully in 4-6 weeks, and can be used dry or saturated with sterile saline or thrombin. Each case contains 6 individually packaged sponges.
