Dual species spore strips contain both Geobacillus stearothermophilus and Bacillus atrophaeus spores, allowing them to test most sterilization processes including dry heat, steam, chemical vapor, and EO gas. Each blue glassine envelope is placed inside a product or package, then after processing the biological indicator is aseptically cultured in soybean casein digest medium and incubated at the appropriate time and temperature. Each lot ships with a Certificate of Performance listing lot-specific information and adherence to USP or ISO performance requirements, and the indicators have a 2-year shelf life when stored as directed.
