GC Fuji IX GP is a self-cure, packable posterior glass ionomer restorative supplied as a 1:1 standard package containing 15 g of shade A2 powder, 6.4 mL (8 g) of liquid, and a mixing pad. Its dough-like, non-sticky consistency can be condensed and finished like amalgam, and as a true glass ionomer it chemically bonds to dentin and enamel while providing high compressive and flexural strength, wear resistance up to 60% greater than conventional glass ionomers, and sustained rechargeable fluoride release. It is indicated as an alternative to amalgam and composite for posterior restorations, long-term temporaries, core build-up, and as a base under other restoratives, with a 2-minute working time and final cure in about 4.5 minutes from the start of mix.
