Surgifoam Absorbable Gelatin Sponge is a sterile, water-insoluble, malleable porcine gelatin sponge intended for hemostatic use by application to a bleeding surface. The 2 cm x 6 cm x 7 mm sheet format can be cut to the specific dimensions of the wound bed, making it suited for oral surgical and dental procedures such as root amputations, apicoectomies, cyst enucleations, and larger multi-rooted extraction sockets. The porous gelatin matrix absorbs up to 40 times its weight in blood and wound fluid, supports platelet aggregation and fibrin clot formation, and is bioresorbable without the need for surgical removal. Each sponge is individually packaged to prevent cross-contamination, and each box contains 12 sponges.
