Calasept Small Kit is a ready-to-use endodontic calcium hydroxide paste supplied in two airtight 1.5 ml syringes with ten 21 gauge luer lock paste needles. The paste contains a high concentration of calcium hydroxide (>41%) with barium sulfate in a sterile isotonic saline solution, giving a pH of 12.4 for a pronounced, long-lasting antimicrobial effect. The airtight, pre-mixed syringes eliminate manual mixing and prevent exposure to air that would convert the calcium hydroxide into inactive calcium carbonate, making the kit suitable for temporary root filling, direct and indirect pulp capping, pulp protection, insulation in deep cavities, and stepwise excavation.
