B-D Sensi-Disc Optochin (Taxo P) susceptibility discs are used for the presumptive differentiation of pneumococci (Streptococcus pneumoniae) from other alpha-hemolytic streptococci. Each cartridge contains 50 paper discs impregnated with optochin (ethylhydrocupreine hydrochloride) for use in the Taxo P disk test. The discs are supplied in a convenient cartridge for easy dispensing and storage.
