HyFlex CM files are endodontic rotary instruments made from a nickel-titanium and chromium alloy with controlled-memory properties. They are extremely flexible and follow the canal anatomy closely, reducing the risk of ledging, transportation, or perforation. The files respond to excessive resistance by straightening their spirals, which prevents binding and increases fracture resistance, and they can be reshaped via heat treatment (autoclaving or glass bead sterilization) to return to their original form.
