IRM reinforced zinc-oxide eugenol composition is formulated for intermediate restorations and as a base under nonresin restorations, such as amalgams, inlays, and onlays. The eugenol component in the polymer-reinforced ZOE acts like a thermal insulator and sedative on hypersensitive tooth pulp. IRM is abrasion-resistant and has a compressive strength above 6300 psi. Restorations can last up to one year. Available in 50 (0.34 g) capsules per pack.
