B. Braun 5% Dextrose and 0.45% Sodium Chloride Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic hypertonic parenteral solution supplied in a 1000 mL Viaflex plastic container. Each liter provides 50 g dextrose (200 calories) plus 4.5 g sodium chloride (77 mEq sodium and 77 mEq chloride), supporting caloric intake, extracellular fluid volume, and electrolyte balance in patients who cannot take fluids orally. The DEHP-free, latex-free container with port closure is intended for intravenous administration in adult maintenance fluid therapy.
