Sterile Water for Injection USP is a clear, colorless, odorless liquid that is sterile, hypotonic, and nonpyrogenic, containing no bacteriostatic or antimicrobial agents. It is used as a diluent or solvent for parenteral drugs and for hydration in fluid therapy after suitable additives are introduced to approximate isotonicity. Supplied in a 500 mL flexible plastic IV bag that is DEHP-free and not made with natural rubber latex.
