Profluorid is a 5% sodium fluoride varnish (22,600 ppm fluoride) designed to treat hypersensitive teeth, seal dentinal tubules, and serve as a cavity liner under amalgam restorations. Its enhanced flow characteristics allow it to reach areas traditional varnishes may miss, while its white, transparent formulation avoids yellow discoloration. The varnish adheres well to moist surfaces, sets quickly in seconds after contact with saliva, and contains xylitol; it is free of common allergens and artificial additives.
