Biodentine calcium-silicate material is made for vital pulp therapy. It has a calcium-hydroxide releasing property that is ideal for direct and indirect pulp capping procedures. Its versatile usage includes temporary enamel restoration crowns, permanent dentin restorations, deep carious lesions, and deep cervical or radicular lesions. Biodentine is also used for root and furcation perforations, internal and external resorptions, apexification, and retrograde surgical filling. The excellent sealing properties allow for direct application over the exposed site, developing adequate strength to brace occlusal loads for an extended time of 6 to 8 weeks. With its 3.5 mm aluminum radiopacity, it can mimic human dentin. Sets in 10 to 12 minutes.
