An absorbable sterile surgical suture composed of purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) derived from either the serosal layer of beef (bovine) or the submucosal fibrous layer of sheep (ovine) intestines. Chromic gut is processed to provide greater resistance to absorption. This suture features a reverse cutting J-1 1/2 circle needle, size 4-0, 18 inches in length, and is packaged in tubing fluid. It meets all requirements established by the U.S. Pharmacopeia (U.S.P) for absorbable surgical sutures.
