Ethicon Plain Gut Surgical Suture is an absorbable, sterile monofilament suture composed of purified connective tissue (mostly collagen) derived from the serosal layer of beef (bovine) or the submucosal fibrous layer of sheep (ovine) intestines. It is indicated for use in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation, including ophthalmic procedures, but not for use in cardiovascular or neurological tissues. Each suture features a 3-0 gauge, 18-inch length, and an X-1 reverse cutting needle (1/2 circle, 22 mm) for precise penetration.
