The Composite Contact Instrument is made with nonstick anodized aluminum that does not wear down to avoid staining the restoration. The double-ended instrument, measuring 2.6 mm and 3.1 mm in diameter, offers enhanced tactility and is extra lightweight, which helps reduce hand fatigue. The CCI technique is utilized by inserting the instrument tip into the cavity after placing the composite, torquing it into position, then introduce a gentle pressure to the adjacent tooth for a desired positive contact.
